Deborah Crall holds a Ph.D. in musicology from The Catholic University of America. Her doctoral dissertation was on Libby Larsen’s operas. As a pianist, her primary teacher was Marcella Brannagen, and chord studies with Alec Chen. Her primary oboe teachers were Martin Schuring, Anne Leek, John Mack and Robert Pusey. Deborah also has a keen interest in Baroque music, and is the proud owner of an oboe by Sand Dalton modeled after a J. C. Denner oboe (c. 1700).
Deborah has taught piano and oboe for over 20 years. She delights in sharing her love of music with her students, and tailors her approach to each student’s unique ability and personality.
