
Bruce Wurst
Bruce Wurst has been teaching stringed instruments since 1980 in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. He has been with Music Masters since its inception in 1987. Bruce holds over 250 first place trophies for banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and he has received numerous first place trophies for different bluegrass bands. He performs throughout Arizona, the Western United States, and Western Canada in different bands on a variety of instruments. Bruce is a certified fiddle judge and he judges competitions in the aforementioned areas. He is a National Banjo Champion and an eight time Arizona State Guitar Champion.
Bruce teaches Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin, Fiddle, Violin, Viola, Cello, Electric and String Bass, Ukulele, Dobro, and Steel Guitar (including Pedal Steel) - to name a few. He also teaches arranging and composition and incorporates music theory back into the instrument the student is learning. Bruce teaches all levels - from Beginner through Professional - including Competition playing on all of the different instruments. He teaches all styles of music as well as all of the techniques of each style. When he is not teaching music, Bruce is either tuning pianos, repairing pianos, teaching woodworking, or flight instruction at the different airports in North Phoenix.
