There are even instrument makers’ marks where known. A foreward on makers’ marks is provided by Herbert Heyde and the book also contains a list of cited collections and libraries, a glossary and a large bibliography.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis is a new book and a 2020 second impression of the first edition. There are entries for nearly 6,500 makers and inventors active until around 1950.
