Calvist (?-1897) was a Spanish clarinetist and composer about which only limited information is known. The editor believes these studies were written in the 1880s. They are about the same level as the Rose 32 Etudes and are in keys from four sharps to seven flats. The editor has recorded 15 of the etudes on the CD. (C1524)
