A Fraction of Your Grace for clarinet and string quartet by Zae Munn. Sisra (Arsis Press), 1999, SS. This piece was written for composer David Lipak in 1997 and was inspired by his wonderful grace as he faced the impending death of his wife. There is an alternation of sections based on quartal chords and sections based on open fifths. Motives derived from the quartal and quintal structures provide most of the melodic material. While not technically difficult at the mm=54 tempo, the parts move independently in most of this piece. Early college level with a duration of about 8:40. (C1002)
