Adagio con variazioni for Clarinet and String Quartet by Girolamo Salieri edited by Johannes Wojciechowski. Sikorski, 1979, SS, includes parts score. Girolamo Salieri (1794-1838 ca.) was an Italian clarinet virtuoso and composer. He was the nephew of the Antonio Salieri with whom he studied. All of his surviving compositions are for clarinet. This piece was composed in 1825 and is about 10 minutes in length. It begins with an opening Adagio, which is followed by the Theme (Allegretto) and four variations. The string quartet is mostly in an accompanying role. The clarinet part is college level. (C2269)
