Matyas Seiber (1905-1960) was a Hungarian cellist and composer who immigrated to Britain after World War II. This piece is mostly in 6/8 with a few 9/8 bars. The principle tempo is in two at 56-60 with some variation. Quite a bit of this piece is in the lower register although it does reach altissimo E-flat. While this piece could probably be performed by many high school students it would be more suited for an early college level performance. The duration is about 3:15. (C2268)
