This very short (16 bar) clarinet quintet which is the statement of the theme of "O mamma, mamma cara!" from Il Carnevale di Venezia is suggested as a brief encore after performing one of the major clarinet quintets such as the Mozart or Brahms. It is based on a manuscript by Cavallini that may have been prepared as a memento prior to the publication of his Carnival of Venice variations. (C0598)
