Concerto Op. 57 for Clarinet and Orchestra by Carl Nielsen

Concerto Op. 57 for Clarinet and Orchestra by Carl Nielsen with piano reduction by Torben Petersen. Wilhelm Hansen, 2003, SS, 36 + 12 pages. For A clarinet. This is the highly regarded new edition of this work which is one of the great concertos for clarinet. It has been reset and the printing is very clear. It is a continuous work with several sections or movements and two major cadenzas. It is one of the few clarinet concertos to have prominent percussion parts. This piano reduction includes the part for tamburo piccolo (a small side drum) which enhances the performance. It is a very difficult concerto, requiring excellent finger and tongue facility.
