Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis by Ralph Vaughan Williams

Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis by Ralph Vaughan Williams arranged for Clarinet Choir by Timothy Bonenfant. Alry Publications, 2017, SS, includes parts and score. This arrangement is for a large clarinet choir. Parts are for E-flat clarinet, 12 B-flat clarinets, alto clarinet (alternate basset horn), 2 bass clarinets, contralto clarinet, and contrabass clarinet. These are provided in 8 parts (9 including the alternate). The clarinet parts have two lines each and the clarinet and bass clarinet parts have divisi. Ralph Vaughan Williams composed the "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" in 1910 for Double String Orchestra and it has become one of his most well-known and beloved works. The work is continuous with frequent changes in tempo. While not especially difficult, it will probably take a college level choir to put this together. (C2705)
