Five Sonatas for Clarinet and Piano by Jean Xavier Lefevre

Five Sonatas for Clarinet and Piano by Jean Xavier Lefevre edited by John Davies and Paul Harris with a piano part realized by David Rowland. Oxford University Press, 1988, SS, 42 + 16 pages. These are the first five clarinet sonatas of twelve that concluded Lefevre's Methode de Clarinette published in 1802. They are progressive in nature with the first two at about a first year of high school level and the remaining three for more advanced high school students. Excellent material for exposure to the clarinet sonata. The CD below has the First, Third, and Fifth sonatas. (C0659)
