La Sonnambula Grand Duo Concertant for Clarinet in E-flat, Clarinet in B-flat and Piano by Luigi Bassi. International Music Diffusion, 2010, SS, includes parts and piano score. Luigi Bassi (1833-1871) was an Italian clarinet virtuoso who replaced Cavallini as the solo clarinetist at La Scala. He wrote 27 works for clarinet including this fantasy on Bellini's Opera La Sonnambula (The Sleepwalker). It is sectional, in a variety of tempos. The preface links the sections to the parts of the opera they reference. In addition to individual parts, a clarinet score is included which will be helpful for rehearsal, especially of the joint cadenza in the first section. An advanced work. (C1749)
