Monologue for Clarinet Solo by Ernst Krenek

Monologue for Clarinet Solo by Ernst Krenek. Rongwen Music, 1958, SS, 3 pages. Ernst Krenek (1900-1991) was an Austrian born composer of Czech ancestry who lived in the United States from 1945. This 1956 work is relatively brief (4 minutes) and in five movements: I. Moderato, II. L'istesso tempo, III. Larghetto, IV. Allegretto, and V. Allegro appassionato. While not difficult technically, it is useful for early college students to study interpretation of unaccompanied atonal music. (C1118)
