Program Notes For the Solo Tuba by Gary Bird with a Foreword by Harvey Phillips

This volume is a guide to 88 of the most important works for the solo tuba. This book is helpful to the tuba playing planning a recital or performing a concerto and needs to provide program notes on the work.  Many of the program notes were written by the composers themselves.  Gary Bird is Professor of Music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he teaches tuba, euphonium and jazz studies. He has been Principal Tubist of the Fort Worth Symphony and has performed with many important ensembles. This is a new book.  Van Cott Cat# MusRefbk 0002
