While she was regarded as an avant garde composer and often employed the techniques of serial music, her music was often less atonal than that of other avant-gardists. Critics praised its deliberate, economical spareness; its light, almost pointillist aspect; its sense of wit and play; and its almost palpable emotional clarity. This is an advanced work although the tempo is never faster then mm = 72 (it includes 32nd notes). The duration is about 8:30. (C2418)
