It is tempting to call this an abbreviated version of the Volta book, but that probably does neither justice. This book which has side by side text in French and English has some introductory material, Preparatory Exercises, Register Exercises, Fingering in the Higher and Altissimo Registers, Effects (Vibrato, Flutter Tonguing or Growl, Ghost Notes, Glissandos, Ornamentation, and Slap Tonguing), and Exercises for Embouchure Suppleness. The book concludes with a Bach Courante, an example of improvisation in the style of Charlie Parker, Tango Etude No. 5 by Piazzolla, and an original etude for the study of register jumps. (C1495)
