Sonata for Clarinet by John Cage

Sonata for Clarinet by John Cage. C.F. Peters, 1963, SS, 6 pages. Three short movements: Vivace, Lento, and Vivace. The fast movements were written in 1933 and are among Cage's earliest works. The composer made some revisions and added the slow movement before it was published. Some mixed meter and tricky rhythms. Cage had trouble getting this performed after it was written, but college students studying contemporary music should be able to master it. (Note that 2012 is the Cage centennial.) (C1809)
