Sonata No. 2 for Clarinet and Piano by Johann Baptist Wanhal

Sonata No. 2 for Clarinet and Piano by Johann Baptist Wanhal (Vanhal) edited by Lyle Merriman. Southern Music, 1968, SS, 25 + 7 pages. This is one of the earliest known clarinet sonatas which was first published in 1800. It was originally for clarinet in C. The editor has preserved the original clarinet key and transposed the piano part. In three movements: I. Allegro moderato, II. Adagio, and III. Rondo (Allegro). This is a relatively easy piece which may be a good choice for high school students before they take on more difficult repertoire. (C1176)
