Sonate pour Clarinet Solo by Ida Gotkovsky. Molenaar Edition, 1986, SS, 22 pages. Ida Gotkovsky (1933-) is a French composer who studied with Nöel Gallon, Oliver Messiaen, Tony Aubin and Nadia Boulanger. She has won many prizes for her compositions. This piece was commissioned by the International Clarinet Society and premiered by Elsa Ludwig-Verdehr in 1986. In four movements: I. Lyrique (Declamando con Brio), II. Scherzo capricioso (Presto sempre stacc.), III. Dolcissimo (Calme Lento), and IV. Final (Prestissimo). An advanced, virtuoso work with high altissimo, glissandi, flutter tonguing and some contemporary notation. Duration about 17:40. (C1693)
