Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano by Pierre Max Dubois. Alphonse Leduc, 1956, SS, 16 + 6 pages. This piece is in three movements: Misterioso (4/4), Vif et léger (1 2/8) and Calmato (4/4). The melodic material is lyrical and melodious but may also be highly decorated with runs and arpeggios (first movement). The second movement is in tarantella style; third movement is very quiet and in a simple mood. The piano accompaniment requires an excellent performer with good technique. This is good repertoire for the advanced college clarinetist. (C1183)
