Sonatina for Clarinet Solo by Csaba Deák. Gehrmans Musikförlag AB, 1965, 5 pages. Csaba Deák (1932-) is a Hungarian born composer who began his music education in Hungary studying clarinet and composition at the Béla Bártok Conservatory. In 1957 he came to Sweden and after further study embarked on his career as a composer and music educator. He is best known for his works for wind instruments. This piece is in three movements: I. Allegretto, II. Rubato, con molto tranquillo, and III. Allegro molto/Allegretto. This looks like a college level work to me, although one of my friends in Sweden said it is often used for conservatory auditions there. The duration is about 5:15. (C1396)
