Theme and Variations & Adagio and Polonaise for Basset Horn (or Clarinet) and Piano by Archduke Rudolph of Austria

Theme and Variations & Adagio and Polonaise for Basset Horn (or Clarinet) and Piano by Archduke Rudolph of Austria edited by Luigi Magistrelli (Theme) and completed by Carlo Ballerini (Adagio). Rosewood Publications, 2001/2011, SB, 26 + 6 pages. This publication has two pieces, written around 1823, which are both based on the popular song Ja mam Kone (My Horses or I Have Horses) but are quite different. The Theme and Variations begins with an Andante introduction, the Theme, and seven short variations. The Adagio and Polonaise is just that with the Polonaise at a Moderato tempo. The second piece does not have any notes in the basset range. (C1806)
