Traces - 3 Pieces for B-flat Clarinet (E-flat and Bass Clarinet) and Piano by Alain Roizenblat

Traces - 3 Pieces for B-flat Clarinet (E-flat and Bass Clarinet) and Piano by Alain Roizenblat. International Music Diffusion, 1992, 24 pages (2 copies in score format). Alain Roizenblat (1934-) is a French composer who studied with Tony Aubin. This piece may be played entirely on a B-flat soprano clarinet or E-flat and bass clarinet can be used in specified sections. Inspired by the canvases of artist Gérard Besset, who describes himself as "a lyrical abstract painter," these three pieces unite tone color effects, contrapuntal lines and splintered writing. The three pieces are: I. Taches, II. Lignes, and III. Fresques. There appear to be some spots for multiphonics but only the primary note is specified. An advanced work with a duration of about 14 minutes. (C0779)
