Two Spanish Dances arranged for Clarinet and Piano by Moritz Moszkovski arranged by Lionel Lethbridge. Oxford University Press/Allegro Music, 1977, SS, 11 + 4 pages. Moritz Moszkovski (Moszkowski) (1854-1925) was a German Jewish composer, pianist, and teacher of Polish descent who was particularly known for his piano music (which is the source of these arrangements). They are from Op. 12 Nos. 2 and 5. The first dance is at a moderato tempo and has some triplet figures. It is at the intermediate level. The second dance is much more difficult. It is in 3/4 marked Con spirito and has many dotted sixteenth/thirty-second note figures (and similar). (C1900)
