Vandoren V21 reeds combine the conical shape of a 56 rue Lepic reed with the V.12 profile. This blend offers a rich, warm, and centered sound with excellent projection and quick response. They are designed to provide great consistency and stability across all registers, making them versatile for various musical styles and offering a refined playing experience.

V21 reeds are ideal for clarinetists seeking a dark, rich, and focused tone with exceptional articulation. Their consistent response makes them suitable for advanced students and professional players across classical, jazz, and ensemble settings. The strength 4.0 offers significant resistance for powerful projection and control, appealing to those with developed embouchures.

A reed strength of 4.0 indicates a relatively hard reed. This strength provides more resistance, which can lead to a fuller, darker tone and greater dynamic control for players with strong embouchures. It requires more air support but offers enhanced stability and projection, often preferred by experienced clarinetists seeking maximum tonal depth and control.

An unfiled (or "American") cut reed means the bark is left intact below the vamp. This design typically results in a darker, more complex tone with increased resistance and a broader sound spectrum. It can offer a more robust low end and a rich, resonant quality, often favored by players looking for a powerful and full sound with strong projection.

A 10-pack of Vandoren V21 reeds ensures you always have a fresh, high-quality reed ready for practice, rehearsals, or performances. Reeds are natural products and can vary, so having multiple allows you to find the best match for your playing needs and extend the life of your supply.
