Argoru V/a for Bass Clarinet Solo by Alvin Singleton edited by David Keberle

Argoru V/a for Bass Clarinet Solo by Alvin Singleton edited by David Keberle. Schott, 2009, SS, 9 pages. Alvin Singleton (1940-) is an American composer who studied and worked in Europe for many years. His work has been influenced by jazz and this piece is a good example. The original version was composed for Harry Sparnaay and premiered by him in 1984. The first two sections of the piece are marked "Blues-like" and "Lively, Swing." It includes slap tonguing, two multiphonics (with fingerings) and altissimo but nothing below a low E-flat. An advanced work. (C1859)
