Tôn-Thất Tiết (1933-) is a Vietnamese composer who came to Paris in 1958 to study composition at the Paris Conservatoire. He is know for fusing Asian and Western influences in his music. This piece which was written in 1976 employs contemporary notation and extended techniques such as fractional tones, flutter tonguing, and multiphonics (fingerings given). It has English translations of the French instructions. The duration is about 11 minutes. (C1545)
