For two B-flat clarinets, alto clarinet and bass clarinet (there are some low Ds). This is the title tune from the well received 1988 Italian movie of the same name. It is set in Sicily a few years after World War II. Probably playable by some high school quartets but the complexity and the instrumentation make it more suitable for college level ensembles.
