Clarinet Concerto for Clarinet and Piano by Elliot Carter. Boosey & Hawkes, 1997/2008, SS, 67 + 18 pages. Elliot Carter (1908-2012) was an American composer. This is an advanced work originally intended for Alain Damiens and the Ensemble InterContemporain of Paris with mostly one player on a part but can in the orchestral version also be performed with a larger string section. It is in seven sections and except for the final tutti the clarinetist moves close to the section (percussion, woodwinds, strings etc.) which is the performing the accompaniment by themselves.
