It was premiered in 1977 by Stanley Drucker and Leonard Bernstein to whom it is dedicated. The original is for a large orchestra. It has three movements: Cadenzas, Elegy, and Antiphonal Toccata. This edition includes two pages of description by the composer. This is a long (30 minutes), difficult work which uses some contemporary notation and technique. (C0537)
