Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra (Piano Reduction) by Water Piston

Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra (Piano Reduction) by Water Piston. Associated Music Publishers, 1968, SS, 22 + 8 pages. Walter Piston (1894-1976) was an American composer of ballet, orchestra, and chamber music. A continuous work with five major sections: Con moto (3/4), poco più mosso (2/4), Assai lento (4/4), Allegro (4/4), and Vivo (various meters). Professor Heim regards this as one of the best concertos written in the twentieth century. He says that the clarinetist is required to have quick fingers and a fast tongue and that this is an excellent recital piece for graduate students and professionals. Duration is about 15 minutes.
