Gunnar de Frumerie (1908-1987) was a Swedish composer and pianist who studied in his native country, Vienna and Paris. His work has been described as possessing a Brahmsian complexity mixed with an impressionistic elegance. This composition is his Op. 51 and was written in 1957/58. In two movements: I. Andante (with alternating faster sections and a cadenza), II. Allegretto grazioso (also with a variety of tempos and meters). College level with a duration of 16 minutes. (C1650)
