Concerto in F major for Corno di Bassetto (Piano Reduction) by Alessandro Rolla edited by Ernst Hess with piano reduction by Fritz Kneusslin. Kunzelmann, 2001, SS, 18 + 6 pages. Alessandro Rolla (1757-1841) was a violin and viola virtuoso, composer and teacher. In the Newhill book it is stated that there is a score dated 1829 but the piece appears to have been composed somewhat earlier. The author believes this is the best surviving concerto for basset horn. It is in three movements: Allegro, Largo and Rondo. (C1953)
