Fantasy No. 1 for Clarinet and String Quartet by Charles Villiers Stanford. SJ Music, 1996, SS, (includes parts and score). Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924), who was born in Ireland, was a composer, teacher and conductor. In 1882, he was one of founding professors of the Royal College of Music where he taught composition for the rest of his life. This work was written in 1921 and this is the first time it has been published. Thea King who wrote the notes was responsible for the editing. It is in three movements: Allegro moderato (alla marcia), Andante, and Allegro. (C1943)
