Ingolf Dahl (1912-1970) was a German-born (his mother was Swedish and it was her last name he used) composer, pianist, conductor, and educator. He moved to Switzerland in the early 1930s and emigrated to the US in 1939. The five duets are: 1. Sonatina for Donal Michalsky, Allegro comodo; 2. Invention on Two Intervals for Christie Lundquist, Moderato e dolce; 3. Cadenza Pastorale for Nicolas Roussakis, Lento in tempo flessible; 4. Invention on a Rhythm for Robert Wojciak, Adagio misterioso; and 5. Canonic Rondo for Mitchell Lurie, Presto. These are college level duets that would be useful in lessons and could also be performed. The total duration is 14 minutes. (C2179)
