Five Old American Songs for Clarinet and Organ

Five Old American Songs for Clarinet and Organ arranged by James Sclater. E.C. Schirmer, 2007, SS, 34 + 12 pages. This collection of songs is intended for both church and concert settings. They are: 1. When Jesus Wept by William Billings, 2. My Shepherd Will Supply My Need, 3. Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen, 4. Amazing Grace, and 5. Walls of Zion. Songs 1, 2, and 5 are in the classical style, with the first two playable by better intermediate clarinetists (the last is fast and will require reasonably good technical skills). Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen and Amazing Grace are written in a New Orleans jazz style with improvisation encouraged. (C0902)
