Introduction and Variations for Clarinet and Piano Op. 128 by Johann Wenzeslaus Kalliwoda edited by Dieter Klöcker. Kunzelmann, 1985, SS, 14 + 5 pages. Johann Wenzeslaus Kalliwoda (1801-1866) was a Bohemian violinist and composer who was well known during his life and wrote symphonies, chamber music, and violin music. This is a showpiece in theme and variation form. It begins with an extended Introduction (about 90 measures). Then the theme, which is quite florid, two fast variations (con fuoco and con vivacita), followed by two pages (in the clarinet part) of further development, a restatement of the theme and the conclusion (Più mosso).
