Instead it presents and describes the following scales: major scale, Dorian mode, Mixolydian mode, minor pentatonic scale, jazz melodic minor scale, blues scale, chromatic scale, whole-tone scale, and diminished or octatonic scale and then provides two original jazz tunes to demonstrate each scale in action.
