This work was written for Sabine Meyer on a commission from the 2011 Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. It refers to the life and work of the eleventh century Persian poet Omar Khayyam. It reflects the stages of his life and his love for his wife which was reflected in his poetry. In three movements: I. Allegro, II. Andantino - Allegretto, and III. Andante.
