Klezmer Diptych for Clarinet and Piano traditional arranged by Mike Curtis

Klezmer Diptych for Clarinet and Piano traditional arranged by Mike Curtis. Advance Music, 2010, SS, 7 + 4 pages. This piece features two contrasting traditional klezmer tunes. Originally played at weddings, Mazl Tov Shver un Shviger (Congratulations to the In-laws) is a medium-tempo dance with several evocative sections. Koyln (Coal), which follows almost without pause, is quick and lively. Mike Curtis has arranged these to reflect the clarinet styles of Naftule Brandwine and Dave Tarras. (C1786)
