This is a contrabass (in B-flat) solo with clarinet choir. In addition to the solo part there are parts for E-flat clarinet, four B-flat clarinets, alto clarinet, and bass clarinet. The composer has written that the first (Allegretto) and third (Allegro giocoso) movements are written in the spirit of Rossini opera songs, while the second movement (Maestoso pomposo--and very short) alludes to Handel's Water Music. There are two copies of each part except for the alto clarinet and the contrabass. Extended range instruments are needed for the bass clarinet and contrabass parts. College level (C1816)
