Musikalisches Blumengärtlein und Leyptziger Allerley (Musical Flower Garden with Leyptziger Assortment) for Clarinet and Double Bass (or Cello) by Paul Hindemith

Musikalisches Blumengärtlein und Leyptziger Allerley (Musical Flower Garden with Leyptziger Assortment) for Clarinet and Double Bass (or Cello) by Paul Hindemith. Schott, 1995, SS, 12 pages (in score format). Hindemith, an excellent clarinetist, composed this work in January 1927 for himself and his wife Getrude who was trained as an actress, singer and cellist, and who could also play double bass. The private nature of these compositions is underlined by the fact that all the dynamic and tempi markings are missing. There are nine short pieces: 1. Untitled, 2. Priere d'une vierge dans la Tonart mixolydique (A virgin's prayer in the mixolydian mode), 3. Untitled, 4. Kanon zum Schiessen (Canon for shooting), 5. Broken melody, 6. Marsch der Lowenreichswehr - Oberst W. gewidmet (March of the Lion King's artillery dedicated to Colonel W.), 7. Lied (song), 8. Die Gebetsmuhle im Schwarzwald, Charakterstuck (Prayer wheel in the Black Forest, character piece), 9. Ein Tanzlein (A little dance). Duration about 10 minutes. (C1122)
