Phantasy Quintet Op. 93 for bass clarinet and string quartet by York Bowen. Emerson Edition, 1954. Bowen (1884-1961) was an English composer and professor of piano at the Royal Academy of Music. This piece was written sometime between 1933 and 1936 as an entry in a competition. It is in three movements: Allegro moderato (with many tempo changes); Allegro con spirito, non troppo; and Allegro moderato ma piu tranquillo. Low E is the lowest bass clarinet note. Includes a score and parts. This is an advanced college or professional work. Duration about 14 minutes. (C0599)
