Quartet in E-flat major for Clarinet, Violin, Viola and Violoncello by Johann Nepomuk Hummel edited by Kurt Janetzky. Music Rara/Breitkopf, 1958/2000, SS, includes parts and score. Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837) was an Austrian composer and virtuoso pianist. This work is from 1808. This was written while he was musical director at Esterhazy (1804-1811) as a successor of Haydn. It is in four movements: Allegro moderato, La Seccatura (Allegro molto), Andante, and Rondo (Allegretto). College level but on the easier side with the violin part appearing to be the most challenging. Duration about 30 minutes. (C1897)
