Sonata in D minor for Clarinet and Piano by William Henry Bell. Rosewood Publications, 2000, SS, 25 + 6 pages. English composer William Henry Bell (1873-1946) studied and later taught at the Royal Academy of Music in London during the period 1889 to 1912. He then emigrated to South Africa and taught music at the university level until his retirement in 1935. This Sonata in D minor was written in 1926. It is in four movements: I. Allegro moderato, II. Moderato grazioso (in 24/8 time), III. Adagio, and IV. Allegro non troppo. Something a bit different for college level clarinetists. (C0401)
