Sonata Op. 2 for Clarinet in A and Piano by Archduke Rudolph of Austria edited by Himie Voxman. Breitkopf (Musica Rara), 1973, SS, 34 + 10 pages. Archduke Rudolph (1788-1831); who was a patron, friend, and composition student of Beethoven; left a number of fine works. This clarinet sonata (published in 1822) was dedicated to Count Fredinand Troyer, the archduke's chief steward and a noted amateur clarinetist. In three movements (with an unusual sectional final movement): Allegro moderato, Tempo di Menuetto/Trio, and Adagio/Andantino/Tempo di Marcia comodo/Moderato e dolce/Minore Adagio espressivo/Maggiore Allegretto.
