Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano by Donald Draganski. Alry Publications, 2012, 12 + 6 pages. Donald Draganski was born in Chicago in 1936 and is a life-long resident of the metropolitan Chicago area. He has been a bassoonist, music librarian, and composer although has never worked as a full time musician. This piece has its origins in the composer's half finished Suite for clarinet and piano of 1966. In 1982 he took it up again after a request for a piece to be performed at a recital and this is the result. It is modeled after the Sonata for Bassoon and Piano by Hindemith. In two movements: I. Moderato con moto and II. Tempo di marcia; Cadenza; Pastorale. Advanced high school/early college level. (C2035)
