Suite for Emma for Clarinet and Piano by John Dankworth. Chester (CH55820), 1986, SS, 22 + 9 pages. John Dankworth (1927-2010) was born Essex and grew up in London. After studying at the Royal Academy of Music he had a highly successful career as a jazz musician, band leader, and composer. This piece was written for Emma Johnson who became the BBC 1984 Young Musician of the Year at age 17. It is in four movements: 1. Valse, 2. Pavane, 3. Ballade, and 4. Scherzo. (C1212)
