Symphonie Concertante Op. 25 for Two Clarinets and Orchestra (Piano Reduction) by François Devienne edited by Himie Voxman

Symphonie Concertante Op. 25 for Two Clarinets and Orchestra (Piano Reduction) by François Devienne edited by Himie Voxman. Musica Rara/Breitkopf, 1973, includes parts and piano score. The symphonie concertant form was most popular in France where Devienne was a leading composer. This work is believed to have been written sometime between 1788 when it may have first been performed and 1794 when it was published. In two movements: Allegro Moderato and Rondo (Allegretto). There is a joint cadenza at the end of the first movement. The editor writes that it is still popular today due to its "pleasing melodic line" and idiomatic treatment of the clarinet. College level. (C1851)
