Tibetan Dance for clarinet in B-flat, violin and piano by Bright Sheng

Tibetan Dance for clarinet in B-flat, violin and piano by Bright Sheng. G. Schirmer, 2006, SS. Tibetan Dance was written for the Verdehr Trio in 2000 by Chinese born composer Bright Sheng (1955-) who lived near the Tibetan border during his teenage years. It is in three movements: I. Prelude, II. Song (Melanconico, and the piano is tacet), and III. Tibetan Dance. The composer wrote "the work is anchored on the last movement, the longest of the three. The first two movements are reminiscent, as if one is hearing songs from a distant memory, and the music becomes real in the last movement." Duration about 15 minutes. (C0736)
